Post-Concussion Syndrome and Foundational Correction
No less than three million Americans have a concussion every year. Studies show that at least 15% of these patients experience prolonged symptoms. If these symptoms are persistent and last more than a few weeks, it may indicate post-concussion syndrome (PCS).
Several studies have shown that Foundational Correction using upper cervical chiropractic care can treat or prevent a PCS. We will look at this in detail.
What is post-concussion syndrome?
Post-concussion syndrome (PCS), also known as a post-concussive syndrome, occurs after a mild traumatic brain injury or a concussion.
PCS is typically diagnosed when an individual with a recent head injury experiences specific symptoms following a concussion. These symptoms include:
· Headaches
· Fatigue
· Dizziness
The post-concussion syndrome may occur within a few days of sustaining a head injury. However, it may take weeks for the symptoms to show up in some cases.
