Low Back Pain and Upper Cervical Care

If you’ve got low back pain and were advised to visit a chiropractic doctor for a neck alignment, you might be confused about why. After all, if you’re pained in your lower back, common sense implies that you get chiropractic care in that part of your body.

The thing is, the upper cervical region, also known as the neck, is responsible for most of the pain that is felt in the lower back. Therefore, understanding the relationship between the neck and the lower back is essential.

As 1 of 300 doctors in the United States trained in Foundational Correction, I’ve had the privilege of helping educate patients about how different spine areas relate. In this article, I’ll explain the relationship between the upper cervical region and the lower back and how upper cervical chiropractic care can improve pain in the lower back.
