How Does Upper Cervical Care Help with Ear Infections?

According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, at least five million children are affected by chronic ear infections. However, these infections result in fewer than 30 million hospital visits and at least 10 million antibiotic prescriptions yearly. Over 50 percent of antibiotics prescribed for preschoolers are meant to treat ear infections.

Chiropractic care doctors have successfully treated ear infections for decades, but most people are unaware of this fact. Very few things are as unique as chiropractic care for a child with otitis media, for instance. The ear infection symptoms will resolve within one or two days of beginning chiropractic care. The question is, how does upper cervical care help with ear infections? We’ll see the answer to this and other questions in this article.

What is an ear infection?

An ear infection can be either a viral or bacterial infection. Ear infections can occur in your middle ear, the outer ear, or your inner ear. Most ear infections usually clear up on their own but may cause pain due to fluid buildup or inflammation.
