Fibromyalgia and Upper Cervical Care
Fibromyalgia is a chronic pain condition that affects the soft tissue and muscles. Fibromyalgia is one of the most common chronic pain disorders, with a worldwide prevalence of 3–6%.
Fibromyalgia seems to occur alongside other disorders such as chronic fatigue syndrome, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders, and irritable bowel syndrome. In addition, people with fibromyalgia often experience some emotional disorders, such as anxiety and depression. This condition appears to be more prevalent among women than men.
Very few fibromyalgia patients have heard of upper cervical fibromyalgia chiropractic care; however, this group has experienced great success.
Before we understand how upper cervical fibromyalgia chiropractic care works, we must have a basic knowledge of this condition — the symptoms, causes, and risk factors.
What is fibromyalgia?
Fibromyalgia is a chronic or long-term condition. People who have fibromyalgia usually experience symptoms such as:
- Cognitive and sleep disturbances
- General fatigue
- Tenderness
- Musculoskeletal pain (pain in the bones and muscles)
